REDDING, Calif. -

A $4,000 television stolen from a Redding electronics store has been recovered.

Police called the theft from Best Buy an inside job.

The 65-inch TV went missing from the inventory of the Hilltop Drive store in May.

Derek Serpa, 28, was arrested at his home on Inez Street on Thursday.

Investigators said the Best Buy employee was sent to relieve the front door greeter. A few minutes later he was spotted on surveillance video taking the TV out the front door in a cart.

Police searched Serpa's home Thursday. Officers said they found the TV along with it's original packaging hidden in a bedroom.

Serpa was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of felony embezzlement and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $10,000.
