Concussions are serious injuries that require medical attention. How do you know if your child is showing signs of a concussion?
The most common symptoms are a headache, amnesia surrounding the event and confusion. According to the Mayo Clinic, other symptoms include:
- Dizziness
- Ringing in the ears
- Nausea or vomiting
- Slurred speech
- Fatigue
Other symptoms might not be present for a few days. These include:
- Loss of concentration
- Personality changes
- Sensitivity to light and noise
- Sleep disturbances
- Depression and other psychological problems
- Problems with taste and smell
