Kia rolls out new flagship sedan in Los Angeles
K900 features Kia’s first V8 engine
Kia is getting into the large sedan market with its all-new K900 sedan.
The Korean automaker showed off the new car Wednesday at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Intended to compete with large luxury sedans from Europe and the United States, the Kia is equipped with nice touches like leather seats, a 17-speaker audio system and power everything.
Models equipped with the more powerful V8 add features like lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic sunroof. Those are all options on the V6 model.
Speaking of engines, the V8 cranks out a potent 420 horsepower while the V6 is no slouch with 311 horsepower. All that power goes to the K900’s rear wheels.
"Next year will mark Kia Motors’ 20th anniversary in the U.S. market, and the all-new K900 is a symbol of how far the brand has come and the next bold example of the challenger spirit that has benefited Kia over nearly two decades of growth and maturation," said Michael Sprague, the executive vice president of marketing and communications for Kia Motors America.
The new car is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2014. Prices have not yet been released.
