Subaru WRX gets performance boost for 2015
New car gets upgrades throughout
Subaru officially took the wraps off its new 2015 WRX Wednesday at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The small sedan has been a popular choice among driving enthusiasts, and Subaru hopes to cater to them with a new 268-horsepower engine and a standard six-speed manual transmission. Torque comes in at 258 foot-pounds and a continuously variable automatic transmission is also available.
Adding to the new car’s sporting credentials are a stiffer chassis, larger brakes and a performance-tuned suspension. Cars with the automatic transmission will get a special type of all-wheel-drive system that continuously varies the amount of power going to the front and rear wheels.
Inside, Subaru says, the new car has more interior space thanks to a slightly longer wheelbase, and upgraded materials. It will also be available with a premium Harman/Kardon audio system.
