Meet Colonel Meow, a cat in Los Angeles whose fur has set a new world record at 9 inches long.

The 2-year-old Himalayan-Persian cross-breed already has a huge following online. He has his own website, a YouTube channel boasting more than 1.3 million views and even a Facebook page with almost 180,000 likes.

Now he's the holder of the Guinness World Record for longest fur, according to The Associated Press.

Los Angeles residents Anne Marie Avey and Eric Rosario came upon Colonel Meow at a Petco adoption event.

"It was an impulse purchase," Avey told the Los Angeles Times, adding, "He was actually left on the side of the road and then taken to a kill shelter."

The couple told Guinness they brush Colonel Meow's record-breaking fur three times a week.

And no, they don't use any hair products on it.

"Literally everything in the house has hair on it, including us. I feel like I’m always vacuuming," Avey told Guinness.
