Downtown Chico Sidewalk Shut Down For Construction

POSTED: 11:26 am PDT July 26, 2010
Construction in downtown Chico will shut down some sidewalks intermittently.

Starting July 26th, crews will start working on the sidewalks at West 1st Street and Broadway. Traffic control in the area will be in effect from 7 AM-9 PM.

The sidewalk in the area will be closed at times, and detours will be set up to point pedestrians in the right direction.

Crews will be removing and replacing the curb, gutter, and sidewalk. They will also widen the sidewalk and improve a couple other things.

City officials encourage people to avoid the area when construction is happening. Businesses in the area should have access during the construction.
