Woman Crashes Into County Vehicle, Arrested For DUI

POSTED: 11:27 am PDT July 27, 2010
A Redding woman was arrested Tuesday morning after she allegedly hit a county vehicle, while reportedly driving under the influence.

Police say 49-year-old Amy Long was waiting at a red light at Pine and Yuba Street in Redding with a Shasta County Public Works truck behind her. When the light turned green, she reportedly put her car into reverse and slammed into the truck.

When police arrived, it was determined that Long was allegedly driving under the influence of prescription drugs.

Police also say that her vehicle matched a hit-and-run collision on Azoulay Court that happened an hour earlier. Her car reportedly had damage that was consistent with the collision on Azoulay Court.

She was arrested for driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and operating a vehicle on a suspended license with a prior DUI conviction.
