Paradise police arrested a man late Tuesday night after he spent more than eight hours barricaded inside his home, officials report.

According to a press release, a witness told police the man had multiple loaded firearms.

Nicholas Dicarlo, 21, was eventually arrested outside a home in the 6200 block of Lucky John Road just after 11 p.m. Tuesday. The arrest came after more than eight hours of negotiations, as police tried to get Dicarlo to leave his home.

According to a press release, Dicarlo's father told Paradise police Dicarlo was holed up in the home with several loaded weapons, and was barricading himself inside. When the Butte County Sheriff's Department Special Incident Response Team was dispatched to the home, negotiators were unable to persuade Dicarlo to leave the home.

But after eight hours of ongoing talks, Dicarlo did eventually agree to leave.

According to the police, he was arrested without incident and booked into the Butte County Jail.

Charges include criminal threats and various firearms violations. As of early Tuesday morning, additional charges were pending.
