Bend, Calif. -- The Tehama County Sheriff's Department has determined the man found dead in his car early Monday morning was stabbed in his chest multiple times by his passenger.

Sheriff Parker said that King was visiting family on Sunday evening. He left and drove towards the Bend district in Tehama County with the suspect in his rented car.

King's body was found around six o'clock on Monday morning by a woman walking her dog.

"He was stiff and he was cold and there was no sign of life," said Cindy Stroing, the woman who called 9-1-1 after discovering King's body. "It was scary. My pulse was racing when I ran up to call police."

Sheriff Parker said that the department is not getting any tips. Neighbors are wondering what King was doing on their quiet country road.

Sheriff Parker also said that they were able to collect DNA evidence from the scene and from inside the car. They are waiting for those results.
