Arrest Made In Rape Case
POSTED: 11:52 pm PDT September 2, 2010UPDATED: 12:03 am PDT September 3, 2010OROVILLE, Calif. -- A transient from Oroville is accused of raping a woman he knows.Mark Jacques, 38, allegedly approached the woman near Oro Dam Boulevard in late august, and threatened to kill her if she didn't follow him. According to police, the victim said Jacques then led her to an area near the Rite Aid Pharmacy and sexually assaulted her.He was arrested Wednesday in Oroville on kidnapping and sexual assault charges.Police are asking anyone with information on this case to call Detective Barkley at 538-2459.
