Young Horse Gets Second Chance At Life
POSTED: 3:14 pm PDT September 6, 2010UPDATED: 12:25 pm PDT September 7, 2010SHINGLETOWN, Calif. -- A horse rescue in Shingletown is asking for the public’s help to nurse an injured foal back to health.
Palomino Armstrong took the young horse home from a Bureau of Land Management holding facility last Thursday after learning it was near death. The milk from the foal’s mother had dried out, so he tried to get food from other horses. The horse was kicked and bitten by other horses, bringing him to the brink of death.
Armstrong made headlines in April 2009 when she rescued another young horse, who was found nearly frozen to death in Shingletown. That horse has made a full recovery.
