Man Sentenced For Hate Crime Committed In Chico
POSTED: 12:26 pm PDT September 9, 2010UPDATED: 12:29 pm PDT September 9, 201028-year-old Eric Clawson of San Francisco was sentenced to three years and one month in state prison for a hate crime committed in Chico in July 2008. Evidence showed that Clawson used a racially derogatory term to object to the presence of the victim in Riley’s Bar and Grill in Chico. Clawson repeated the slur several times, then approached the victim and punched him in the face. The assault left the victim unconscious and caused injuries to his face and mouth. Clawson’s sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release.
