7 Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured in Quad Accident

STIRLING CITY, Calif. - A 7-year-old child was seriously injured in a quad accident in Butte County.

It happened at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday in Stirling City.  The CHP said a woman and a 7 year old girl were riding a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak quad runner off Oak Street near Lava Street.

The quad hit an embankment, throwing both of them off the vehicle.  

The CHP said the driver Sarah Robbins, 27 of Tracy, was taken to Enloe hospital complaining of pain.  The child Haley Jordan, 7 of Tracy, was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with major injuries.

The CHP said the child was wearing a helmet, the driver was not.
