92-year-old woman robbed, threatened with knife

RED BLUFF, Calif. - An elderly woman was robbed and threatened with a knife by an intruder at her home in Red Bluff.

According to a news release from the Tehama County Sheriff's Office, 92-year-old Myrtle Walker reported the robbery around 8 a.m. Saturday.

Walker said a man forced his way into her residence on Johnson Road and threatened her with a large hunting knife.  The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Robert Lonsberry, demanded jewelry and money from Walker.

The sheriff's office said  Walker gave Lonsberry her last 10 dollars.  When he left the residence, he took her phone with him so she could not contact the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Lonsberry was located within two hours and arrested at his home on Hasvold Drive.  Inside his vehicle, deputies said they found property stolen from a burglary in Red Bluff.

Lonsberry was arrested and booked at the Tehama County Jail.  He faces charges including armed robbery, elder abuse, burglary,  possession of stolen property, and malicious removal of phone
