Firefighters and building maintenance crews help rescue a kitten stuck in a metal pipe.

Early Wednesday morning, a pipe was dropped off at Redding Fire Station 4 with a kitten stuck inside. Fire Captain Mike Anderson and firefighter John Clark called up Redding employees Ralph White and Gary Brown to assist with the rescue. After a quick and safe procedure, they were able to carefully cut the pipe open to free the kitten.

Redding Fire Department says they have done a lot of animal rescues before, but this is the first kitten they have helped rescue from a pipe. One of KRCR News Channel 7's producers has adopted Piper.
