RED BLUFF, Calif. -

The giant animal was spotted relaxing near a busy shopping center Thursday afternoon.

Red Bluff Police were called after someone spotted the mountain lion resting or sleeping behind the Adobe Plaza on the corner of Main Street and Adobe Road.

When officers arrived, the mountain lion was in a wooded area adjacent to a large alfafa field.

Officials with the Department of Fish & Game were called out.

Since the animal didn't appear to be a threat to anyone, the Game Warden and Biologist stayed at the scene to keep an eye on the mountain lion until he left.
