The crash happened around 11:30 Saturday night on State Route 99 at the Nicolaus Avenue intersection in Yuba-Sutter, killing two teens and critically injuring another.

The California Highway Patrol said that 18 year old Justin Andrews of Dixon was driving a Saturn sedan south on State Route 99 when he turned left on Nicolaus Avenue directly in front of a GMC Yukon heading north. When the GMC Yukon hit the Saturn sedan, the front right passenger, 19 year-old Delfino Gaona of Dixon died on impact. The driver, Andrews suffered a punctured lung and lacerated liver. The third passenger, 17 year old Alexander Silva of Vacaville died when he arrived at Sutter Roseville Hospital.

Officers say that there were four occupants in the Yukon GMC including two infant children, no one was injured in the Yukon.

CHP is still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
