A Redding Soldier Wants His Medals Back

A soldier in Redding got his medals stolen that he earned while serving seven years in the U.S. Army.

Sam Forseth served 10 months in Afghanistan. He said that the medals he received were valuable to him, but he could not see why anyone would take them.

The incident happened on early on Sunday morning around two. Forseth said he went outside and saw that his car door was open. He said the doors had been locked and it was clear that someone had broken in.

"I just don't understand how somebody can take something like military medals that's no value to them," said Forseth. "It is all sentimental value to me and something I want to pass on to my daughter. It holds memories and, you know, achievements that I've achieved over the years in the military."

Police are investigating the case. Forseth said if anyone has any information, he or she should contact Redding Police.
