AAA kicks off rescue-mission turkey drive with 640 lbs. of frozen turkeys

REDDING, Calif. - Thanksgiving is just two weeks away and the Good News Rescue Mission in Redding is starting their 17th annual Turkey Drive.

AAA kicked off the drive by delivering 36 frozen turkeys weighing a total of 640 pounds to the mission's kitchen located in south Redding.

Good News Rescue Mission expects to donate about 500 turkeys through the Thanksgiving season and another 500 for Christmas.

The turkeys come complete with all the fixings for a complete Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

The rescue mission is accepting food donations at their south Redding location off highway 273.
