Alleged DUI driver crashes at Anderson McDonald's

ANDERSON, Calif. - An Anderson man was arrested on DUI charges after he crashed into a flagpole and a tree at the McDonald's in Anderson. 

Police said 22-year-old Alexander Holmes was under the influence when his vehicle jumped the curb on McMurry Drive, knocked down a 30-foot flag pole, and slammed into a tree outside the McDonald's.

Police said it started around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday with a disturbance at the 3300 block of Vinewood Drive, where Holmes was reported to be intoxicated. Holmes left the scene.  While police were responding, they spotted the vehicle crashed at McDonald's.

Holmes was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license.
