Campbell Fire grows to 600 acres, 40% contained

CAMPBELLVILLE, Calif. - The Campbell Fire burning in the Ishi Wilderness Area in Tehama County has grown to 600 acres.  As of Sunday night it was 40% contained.

The fire was reported Thursday night.  It is burning on the south side of the Deer Creek drainage, east of Los Molinos.  Officials said 500 fire personnel are on scene, they hope to contain the blaze Tuesday.

The fire is not threatening any structures.   The fire remains more than two miles north of Campbellville. It is in rugged country making progress slow.
