Carjacking leads to high speed pursuit, crash and 3 arrests

REDDING, Calif. - Three suspects were arrested after a carjacking and pursuit in Shasta County late Thursday night.

Redding Police said a silver Ford Mustang was stolen at knifepoint by three men around 10:00 p.m. It happened in the parking lot of the Target on Churn Creek Road and Dana Drive in Redding.

The car was eventually located by Shasta County Sheriff's deputies. They pursued the stolen car on Interstate 5 into Cottonwood. Officers told our reporter at the scene that the pursuit reached speeds exceeding 100 mph.

Police said the suspects fled the vehicle after crashing at the Balls Ferry Road exit.

The three men were eventually caught by law enforcement arriving at the scene.

The suspects are 21-year-old Christopher Hill and 21-year-old Adrian Caillaux, both of Redding.  A juvenile was also arrested but due to their age, that suspect's name was not released.
