CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Stage Race wrapped up a weekend of bicycle events Sunday with a series of frenetic races in downtown Chico.
The event started Friday with races at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, continued Saturday with a road race through parts of Butte County and ended Sunday with speed events down the main streets of Chico.
For some, the final leg in downtown Chico was the highlight of the weekend.
"We love it, the atmosphere is just really cool down here and the course - I love this course," says Sacramento road racer Rich Steele. "It's a little bit of technical and it's really fast and the pavement's good. It's exciting."
Hundreds of cyclists and spectators from all over Northern California took part in the annual event.
