Chico McDonalds donating funds to Chico State student killed by fallen tree branch

CHICO, Calif. - The McDonalds off Notre Dame Boulevard in Chico said Friday they'll be donating money to the Chico State student who was killed by a fallen tree branch earlier this week.

Pa Houa Lor worked at that McDonalds, and the owner said Friday afternoon the family wanted to have her uniform as well.

The owner also said this was her first job.  Pa Houa Lor was killed by a falling oak tree branch earlier this week on the Chico State campus. She later died at the hospital.

Her parents asked if it was okay to keep Pa Houa's uniform and the owner agreed. Everyone at that McDonalds says they are really going to miss her.

"She was fabulous," said Chico McDonald's store owner, Mark Burington. "She always had a smile on her face.  Everybody really enjoyed working with her and a terrible loss for everybody."

McDonalds is donating $400.00 to Pa Houa Lor memorial fund.  Pa Houa Lor was 18 years old when she passed away.

Chico State also announced Friday they will be having a public memorial service for Pa Houa Lor on Monday.  It will be at the Bidwell Chapel and it starts at 1 p.m.
