Chico police seek public help locating assault and robbery suspect

CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is investigating an assault and robbery that took place in south Chico, Monday.

Officials said the incident took place around  5:45 p.m., on October 9, when a 20-year-old woman was walking in the area of W 7th St. and Walnut St.

Allegedly an unknown man grabbed her and pulled her into a nearby parking lot. He repeatedly struck her, robbed her, and ran away.

The woman was transported to an area hospital where she was treated for injuries she received during the assault.

The Chico police stated that they have yet to locate the man. He is described as a black male, over six feet tall, thin build, wearing red shoes and no shirt.

The woman was released from the hospital and did not sustain any major injuries.

The Chico Police Department is actively investigating this incident and asks that anyone with information call 530-897-4911.
