Community celebrates Paradise shelter makeover

PARADISE, Calif. - Community volunteers were celebrated Saturday at the Town of Paradise Animal Shelter after the facility was given a bit of a makeover.

Among the improvements, landscaping and fence improvements.

Two groups in particular, the Paradise Rotary Club and Paradise Animal Shelter Helpers, were instrumental in getting it all done.

The Party Like an Animal event was held at the shelter with them in mind.

"This is a day where we want to show our appreciation to those who have worked so hard," said Paradise Town Councilman John Rawlings. "The Paradise Rotary Club and so many others who have donated their time and service to make this happen for our community."

Inside, people took tours of the shelter and met the animals housed there.

Local groomers and trainers also offered up information about the services they provide.

Multiple ridge pet-based businesses also offered raffle prized to raise money for the shelter and future improvements.
