Deputies: Kidnapping suspect caught with assault weapon in Glenn County

WILLOWS, Calif. - A kidnapping suspect wanted in Del Norte County was arrested after a chase in Glenn County. 

Joshua Bond; 24 of Brookings, Oregon; was arrested on a series of charges including possession of an assault weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of illegal ammunition.

It started around Thursday morning around 7 a.m. when the CHP was involved in a short pursuit of a Buick Regal which started near County Road 57.  The pursuit passed through the residential area of Willows and ended in the area of Murdock and Ash Streets.

During a search of the vehicle, approximately a ½ pound of methamphetamine and approximately 4 ounces of marijuana was located.

Also located was a 12 gauge shotgun, a .9mm sub-machine gun, and a .380 pistol which was thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit along with numerous ammunition for all weapons.
Drug agents said the total street value of the methamphetamine is $22,700.  Total street value of the marijuana is $2,400.00

Joshua Anthony Bond, age 24 of Brookings, Oregon was arrested and booked into the Glenn County Jail

During the booking process, the results of a live scan revealed that Bond had an outstanding felony warrant out of Del Norte County Superior Court for kidnapping.

Bail for the new charges was set at $232,000, for a total bail amount of $482,000.
