Deputies question person of interest in Jones Valley shooting

JONES VALLEY, Calif. - Shasta County deputies and the SWAT team responded to a shooting in the Jones Valley area Monday morning.

It started around 5 a.m. off Dry Creek Road.  Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said a deputy responded to investigate a bullet that hit a residence along East Valley Trail off Elk Trail West.

While the deputy was investigating, another shot was fired, barely missing the deputy.  The deputy called for backup and the SWAT team responded.
