Deputies: Two Men Caught Burglarizing Tehama County Home

GERBER, Calif. - Two men were arrested in Tehama County Sunday night, accused of burglarizing a home in Gerber.

Tehama County deputies responded to an address on Hwy 99E in the Gerber area around 10:30 p.m. for a reported burglary.

Deputies said they saw Wayne Lyle VanSickle, a 56-year-old transient, and Philip Mark Andreas, 34 of Corning, removing items from the residence.  VanSickle and Andreas had reportedly been staying in the vacant residence without permission.

The owner of the residence identified the items the suspects had in their possession as belonging to the victim.

A woman was with the two suspects, however it did not appear that she had taken anything from the residence.   Deputies said Loren Marie Thompson, 20 of Corning, was found to be in possession of a controlled prescription medication that was not prescribed to her.

VanSickle and Andreas were arrested for burglary.  Thompson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  The three were booked at the Tehama County Jail.
