Dog killed in Jones Valley house fire

REDDING, Calif. - A family is displaced after a fire destroyed their Jones Valley home Monday night. The family's dog was found dead inside.

The fire broke out just after 7:00 p.m. on the 22000 block of Elk Trail.

The family tried to put out the fire when it started but was unsuccessful.

Firefighters arrived to find a two-car garage in flames. From there the blaze spread to the home. A travel trailer was also destroyed in the fire.

The fire was contained before it could spread to nearby vegetation.

It caused an estimated $75,000 to $100,000 in damage.
