Driver arrested for DUI after rollover crash in Redding

REDDING, Calif. - A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a rollover crash in Redding.

Just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Churn Creek and Canby Roads, Christopher Andrew Smallridge, 41, overturned his silver pickup, ran off the road and overturned in a ditch.

According to Redding police, Smallridge had been driving northbound on Canby Road when he crossed over the opposing lane of traffic and left the road. Smallridge had been wearing a seatbelt and all of the vehicles air bags deployed.

No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash.

Smallridge suffered minor injuries. He was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
