Driver Charged with Manslaughter, DUI in Fatal Crash

IGO, Calif. - An Igo man is dead, and two others were hurt, after a pickup truck overturned on South Fork Road late Saturday night.

According to investigators with the California Highway Patrol, Shane Urban, 26, of Cottonwood, was driving his 1986 Toyota pickup eastbound on South Fork Road just after 10:00 p.m., when he made an unsafe turning movement, causing him to lose control.

The pickup truck left the roadway edge striking an embankment, and causing it to overturn.

Urban and one of his passengers, Austin Wicks, 21, of Anderson, sustained moderate injuries in the crash, but were able to get themselves out of the truck.

A third passenger, an unidentified 22-year-old man from Igo, was killed.

Urban was arrested at the scene and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.

None of the three men was wearing a seat belt.
