We hope "Vampire Diaries'" actress Nina Dobrev likes cats.

According to his Twitter account, Dobrev's boyfriend and co-star Ian Somerhalder is smitten with a kitten -- and one who just happens to have an adorable attitude.

"Me and my new love," Somerhalder posted on Sunday to Instagram, sharing a photo of himself at SXSW with the infamous Grumpy Cat, the Internet's favorite feline.

As CNN's Brandon Griggs reports, Somerhalder wasn't the only one taken by Grumpy Cat's cranky charm at this year's SXSW. Attendees stood in line for hours trying to get a snapshot with Grumpy Cat, an 11-month-old mixed-breed whose real name is Tardar Sauce.

"She is a sweetie pie with beautiful eyes, I might add," Somerhalder told E! News. "I don't know if she was drunk or maybe they gave her some ketamine or something but she was very peaced out." (For the record, Grumpy Cat's handlers don't give her sedatives.)
