FBI, police arrest man for Facebook sex solicitation

PARADISE, Calif. - A Paradise man was arrested this week, accused of using Facebook to solict sex with minors. Police believe he approached hundreds of woman on Facebook to lure his victims.

Jordan Kirby, 22 of Paradise, was arrested on Monday after a three month-investigation and faces eight charges, including several crimes involving a molestation of a minor.

The investigation started in March.  Detecitves starting investigating a then unknown person who had used Facebook to extort a minor female into performing sex acts.  

Over the following months, a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified a suspect and revealed that he maintained three different Facebook profiles. The suspect allegedly used these profiles to contact more than 400 adult and minor females who reside primarily in Butte County to solicit sex acts and nude photographs

On Monday, May 26, Paradise Police Department personnel and a FBI special agent interviewed Kirby. Kirby was arrested by the Paradise Police Department for three (3) counts of oral copulation with a person under the age of 16, three (3) counts of oral copulation accomplished by coercion; one (1) count of sodomy of a person under 16; and one (1) count of sodomy accomplished by coercion. Jordan was also arrested for violation of probation.

The Paradise Police Department urges all parents to have an open dialogue with their children about all social media websites and applications and the content they may have shared with others.
