Garage destroyed in west Redding fire

REDDING, Calif. - A detached garage was badly burned and the fire threatened to burn an adjacent apartment complex Tuesday in a west Redding fire.

The Redding Fire Department responded around 5:30 p.m. and was able to extinguish the fire before it burnt a nearby duplex on Milo Avenue. The fire came within five feet of the next door building as flames destroyed a garage and a fence encircling it.

No one was hurt in the fire and officials are investigating the cause.
