Good News Rescue Mission Flooded After Recent Rain; Donated Goods Damaged

REDDING, Calif. - The Good News Rescue Mission suffered major losses in flooding over the weekend.

The flooding caused severe damage in several buildings, especially in the distribution center.  Donations were damaged for seasonal and children's clothing. The distribution of warm clothing has essentially been shut down until further notice.

Staff at the mission said it comes at the most difficult time of the year with the ever-increasing need for clothing and colder weather arriving.

The administrative office was also hit hard and is currently undergoing clean-up with portions of the building sealed off awaiting full inspection of the damage.

The facility is seeing record-breaking numbers of guests seeking safe shelter. The women's House of Hope has been at capacity this week.
