Hazardous Materials Team Responds to Chemical Spill from Vehicle Collision

CHICO, Calif. - Chico Fire Dept. responded on Monday morning to a chemical spill at West Third Street and Walnut Street in Chico.

The chemicals spilled after a collision between a red truck carrying pool cleaning supplies and a sedan on Walnut Street.

The man driving the truck, 58-year-old Anthony Molatore, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

No one was injured and the chemicals were cleaned up within about an hour of the accident. 

The accident closed one lane of traffic on Walnut Street for about an hour.
