Helicopter helps police nab suspect in overnight chase in Redding

REDDING, Calif. - A felon is behind bars after leading police on a chase in Redding.     It started a little after 1 a.m. Friday on Twin View Boulevard in North Redding.

Redding Police said they tried to pull over 25-year-old Robert Clark at North Market and Twin View Boulevard.

Clark took off, leading police on a chase that ended quickly when his vehicle spun out on Interstate 5.

Clark took off on foot down the northbound ramp, but was spotted by a helicopter hiding between Motel 6 and the Harley Davidson shop.    Police tell us during the chase he threw away a pistol.

He was arrested on charges of felony evasion, and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
