14-year-old Arrested For Stabbing Employee at Group Home

PALO CEDRO, Calif. -

A 14-year-old boy at a Palo Cedro group home was arrested for attempted murder after a stabbing Monday night.  Deputies said he stabbed an employee at Remi Vista Group Home, and later admitted he wanted to kill the victim.

It happened Monday just before 8 p.m..  SHASCOM received a 911 call.  Deputies responded and located an employee who had been stabbed by the 14-year-old. The employee was treated and released from a local hospital.  The wounds are non-life threatening.

The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall Monday night.

On Tuesday deputies requested that the Major Crimes Unit assist them in further investigation. The suspect was interviewed by detectives. The suspect reportedly admitted that he wanted to kill the employee and admitted to a gang affiliation.

This is an on-going investigation with interviews still being conducted.
