REDDING, Calif. -

A three car crash on Interstate 5 slowed down traffic near the Knighton Road exit Thursday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol a Ford SUV was heading northbound in the slow lane on I-5 around 8:15 a.m. when the vehicle attempted to change lanes into the fast lane. During the lane change the SUV hit another vehicle initiating what officers on the scene called a three car rear-ender.

Three people were transported to the hospital with complaints of injuries.
