Accident on Hartnell Sends Two to Mercy Medical Center

REDDING, Calif. -

Two people were admitted to the hospital Fri. evening after a car accident in Redding near the corner of Hartnell Ave. and Cypress Ave.

Redding Fire Dept. had to use the "jaws of life" to remove a female teenage victim in the accident.

The teenager was taken to Mercy Medical Center to be treated for unknown injuries.

Redding Police said the accident happened around 2:50 p.m. Fri. afternoon when a female driver of a black Acura was attempting to make a left-hand turn when it was hit by a BMW SUV.

Traffic on Hartnell Ave. was slowed to one lane for nearly an hour.

Officers say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
