ORLAND, Calif. -

Alleged child molester Pascual DeJesus was apprehended in Orland on Monday after it was believed he had fled the country.

A warrant for DeJesus’ arrest was issued back in February after authorities suspected that he had gone to Mexico before he could be questioned about the alleged continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

Members of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force were in Orland interviewing members of the DeJesus family when a cargo van pulled up to the apartment complex.

Task Force Officers and Deputy U.S. Marshals at the scene believed that 44-year-old DeJesus and his wife were inside the van.

The man would not identify himself to the officers but family members confirmed that it was DeJesus. He was then transported and booked into the Tehama County Jail.
