Butte County Animal Control responded to Paradise Friday morning after a bear cub was hit by a car.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. on the Skyway at Clark Road.
Paradise Police tell us the injured bear cub was found in the road after it was hit by a car.
Fish and Wildlife authorized Paradise Police to shoot and kill the cub to put it out of its misery.
The mother bear was spotted nearby and eventually ran off into the canyon. Animal Control was called to remove the cub from the road.
