Big Rig Accident Blocks Highway 299
BURNEY, Calif. -

A big-rig accident has reduced Highway 299E to one lane at Hatchet Mountain in eastern Shasta County.  The accident happened around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses told the CHP an empty big rig rolled onto its side.  The CHP said the driver was trapped, but could not confirm the severity of the driver's injuries.

The Highway is expected to be reduced to 1-way traffic for 6 to 8 hours.
