CHICO, Calif. -

The Butte County Bomb Squad disposed of a suspicious package found outside the U.S. Bank in downtown Chico Tuesday morning.

Chico Police say the mysterious bag was left in front of the bank overnight.  A bank employee called police once they found the bag.

Several downtown Chico streets were closed starting at 8:30 a.m. when the green bag was first spotted near the front of the U.S. Bank at 260 2nd Street.

The bomb squad disposed of the bag by blowing it up around 12:30 p.m.

Chico Police say they found miscellaneous items inside but did not clarify what those items were.
