Boot Blamed for SUV Crash Into Liquor Store
An SUV crashed into a Chico liquor store Friday morning, and the driver blamed her large boots.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. Friday, at East Avenue Liquor at 1254 East Avenue.
Chico Fire Investigator Marie Fickert said a woman was driving a Toyota Rav4 into a parking space. The driver said she was wearing large boots that she wasn't used to wearing. She thought her foot was on the brake but it was instead on the gas pedal. She over-accelerated and crashed through the store's glass doors. Three people were inside the store at the time but no one was injured.
