A celebration of life will be held this weekend for the woman allegedly murdered by her nephew in Redding.
Candace Watson, 66, was found dead in her garage after investigators say she was stabbed several times. Her husband, a 68-year-old former Grant School superintendent, Bob Watson was also stabbed several times, but survived the attack.
It happened in their Boston Ave. home on Jun. 8.
Watson's nephew, 30-year-old Cody Nash, has pleaded not guilty to the murder and attempted murder charges. However, according to investigators, Nash admitted slashing the couple with a knife as a way to gain courage for his own suicide.
The celebration of life for Candace Watson is being held on Sun., Oct. 28 from 2 p.m. to 6p.m. at the Redding Elks Lodge.
Watson's daughter, Dawn, said that the family waited to hold services because they wanted to make sure Bob could be there.
Instead of flowers, the family is asking for donations for groups that Candace was a part of.
