The Chico Police Department has a new officer. Monday morning, the department swore in its first new officer in about two years.
According to the Chico Police Officers Association, Officer Jack Ditty is the first police officer hired by the city in almost two years.
During the same time frame, the city has had 10 Officers separate employment by either retirement or resignation.
