CHICO, Calif. -

Chico Police searched for a man who robbed the Tri-Counties Bank on Pillsbury Road Monday afternoon.

Police said the call came in around 1:45 p.m..  Witnesses told officers a man came in and demanded money.  No weapon was seen.

The suspect got away with some money, but there were conflicting reports on which direction he headed.

Deputies helped block off the parking lot of the bank while police investigated.  Officers searched several surrounding businesses, including Grocery Outlet, Kmart and the Almond Orchard Shopping Center but failed to locate the man.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5'9", 250 pounds.  The man was wearing a ball cap.

Police hope to recover surveillance video of the suspect inside the bank.
