A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Chico.
Witnesses told police it may have started with an argument between a driver and a pedestrian.
It happened at about 4 p.m. Thursday in South Chico at the 15th Street and Park Avenue.
Witnesses told police the victim got into a fight with the driver, 45-year-old William Llamas of Paradise as Llamas was stopped at a crosswalk waiting for the pedestrian to cross the street.
The victim suffered head and lower leg injuries. Officers conducted several interviews with witnesses and bystanders. The witnesses indicated the pedestrian had some sort of altercation.
